Toddler Program at Oak Park Early Learning

Play based and milestone learning approach for Children Aged 2 to 3 Years

At Oak Park Early Learning, our Toddler Program is designed to support children aged 2 to 3 years as they become more independent, expressive and socially aware. This stage of early development is filled with discovery, and our educators are here to guide and nurture every moment with warmth and intention.

Our calm and engaging environment will allow toddlers to explore their world, build new skills, and form meaningful connections with others. Our toddler classroom is rooted in play based and milestone guided learning. In our toddler classroom, we believe that learning begins with play. Every day is filled with opportunities for little ones to explore, create and grow in a safe, nurturing environment that supports their natural curiosity and development.

Our approach blends play-based experiences with strong focus on key developmental milestones, helping each child build confidence independence in reaching these milestones. Through engagement and hand-on experiences, children explore their interests, build foundational skills, and achieve key milestones at their own pace. Educators observe, support and extend learning opportunities to nurture each child’s growth in language, motor skills, social development and independence.

Building Confidence Through Purposeful Play:

Toddlers are naturally curious and eager to learn. Our program includes thoughtfully planned, play-based experiences that promote:

  • Language development and early communication

  • Social skills, cooperation and emotional regulation

  • Creativity, music and imaginative play

  • Practical life skills like handwashing and packing away

  • Problem-solving, spatial awareness and early numeracy concepts

With gentle guidance, toddlers begin to follow daily routines that provide a sense of security while supporting self-help and independence. At Oak Park Early Learning, our toddler classroom is a place where confidence grows through purposeful play. Every activity is thoughtfully designed to support key developmental milestones- encouraging children to explore, make choices, and try new things in a safe and nurturing environment.

Occupational Therapy at Oak Park Early Learning

Occupational Therapy (OT) applies techniques and strategies to support a child’s independence, engagement, and achievement in daily life. At Oak Park Early Learning, OT helps children participate in self-care, learning, social interactions, play, and other daily activities in ways that build confidence and capability.

On-Site Occupational Therapy Support

As part of our commitment to an inclusive early learning environment, Oak Park Early Learning has the support of an experienced Occupational Therapist on site. With more than nine years of experience, our OT has worked extensively with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays, behavioural challenges, sensory differences, and other additional needs.

This on-site support allows our educators daily access to advice, observations, and strategies to help children who may benefit from OT input.

Collaboration with Educators

In addition to daily collaboration, our educators attend weekly group education sessions with the Occupational Therapist. These sessions allow the team to discuss any children who may need targeted assistance in key areas, including self-care, communication, social skills, learning, motor development, and self-management.

This close partnership ensures children at Oak Park Early Learning receive consistent, individualised support that is embedded in their everyday experiences.
