Nursery Classrooms at Oak Park Early Learning

Education & Care Programs for Children Aged 6 months to 24 months

At Oak Park Early Learning, we have two classrooms dedicated to Nursery children:

  • 6 - 16months

  • 16 - 24 months

Our very small nursery classrooms provide a calm, nurturing and developmentally supportive environment that are rooted in play-based and milestone driven learning activities. We believe that the best learning at this age happens through meaningful play experiences and sensory exploration. In our nursery classrooms, children are encouraged to discover the world around them in an environment that encourages curiosity and developmental growth both indoors and in our wonderous outdoor gardens.

We understand how important these early years are for building confidence, trust, and emotional wellbeing. Our experienced educators form warm, responsive relationships with each child, helping them feel safe, supported, connected and ready to explore.

A Nurturing Start to Early Learning:

Our nursery program offers a soft, sensory-rich environment tailored to the needs of infants and babies. With a strong focus on respectful care, predictable routines and gentle transitions, children are guided through their day with intention and care.

We support each child’s natural curiosity and independence while helping them feel secure and understood as they begin to develop language, mobility and social connection. In our nursery classroom, we believe that the early years are of wonder, exploration and rapid development. Rooted in a play based and milestone driven approach, our learning environment is thoughtfully designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and support the unique developmental journey of every child.

Supporting Growth Through Purposeful Play & Routines:

In the nursery, children engage in meaningful, play-based learning experiences that promote:

  • We do our best to follow each child’s home routines to provide consistency, comfort and smooth transition between home and care.

  • Sensory exploration and early cognitive development

  • Gross motor skills through tummy time, crawling and guided movement

  • Language and communication development through stories, singing, music and conversation

  • Emotional awareness and bonding with trusted educators

  • Social engagement through shared play and observation

All experiences are responsive to each child’s individual rhythm and developmental stage, allowing them to explore at their own pace. With warm, caring educators who nurture every child’s individuality, our nursery classroom becomes a safe and joyful space where learning is a delight adventure laying the groundwork for lifelong growth.

Occupational Therapy at Oak Park Early Learning

Occupational Therapy (OT) applies techniques and strategies to support a child’s independence, engagement, and achievement in daily life. At Oak Park Early Learning, OT helps children participate in self-care, learning, social interactions, play, and other daily activities in ways that build confidence and capability.

On-Site Occupational Therapy Support

As part of our commitment to an inclusive early learning environment, Oak Park Early Learning has the support of an experienced Occupational Therapist on site. With more than nine years of experience, our OT has worked extensively with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), developmental delays, behavioural challenges, sensory differences, and other additional needs.

This on-site support allows our educators daily access to advice, observations, and strategies to help children who may benefit from OT input.

Collaboration with Educators

In addition to daily collaboration, our educators attend weekly group education sessions with the Occupational Therapist. These sessions allow the team to discuss any children who may need targeted assistance in key areas, including self-care, communication, social skills, learning, motor development, and self-management.

This close partnership ensures children at Oak Park Early Learning receive consistent, individualised support that is embedded in their everyday experiences.
